Speak like a native speaker: Phrases to repeat and reword (N°2)

- Sorry, I didn't understand! = Sorry I didn't get it!  

- I can't make heads or tails of it! = I'm unable to understand! = I don't understand at all!

- Can you repeat, more slowly, please? = Can you slow down, please? not can you repeat slower? and not can you repeat more slower?

- I still don't understand. Can you repeat it until I understand? = I still don't get the point. Can you repeat it until I get the point? 

- I beg your pardon, what did you say? 

- Can you repeat that for me please? = Come again, please! 

- Can you say that again in a different way? = Can you say that again in a new way? 

- Can you say that from the beginning? = How's that again? 

- Can you say it all over again? = Please, say it again in more ways than one! 

- What are you trying to say? = What's your point? = What are you getting at?

- What are you trying to put across to me? =  What are you trying to tell me?

- What sort of message do you want to impart to me? = What kind of message do you want to convey to me?

- What are you driving at? = What are you getting at? = What are you aiming at?

- Very well, I understand your point! = Alright (or All right) there, I got your point! 

- What do you want me to understand? = What do you want to get across to me?

- Could you please rephrase the meaning, please? = Could you please say that in a different way? 

- Let me rephrase that = Let me say that differently

- Let me rephrase the question / Let me rephrase the answer

- What about a different version of what who have just said?  

- How about saying that anew? = What if you repeat that?

- Can you break it down for me, please = Can you spell it out for me, please?

- I'm in sync with you! = I'm on the same wavelength as you!

Did you get the gist of it? =  Did you understand the main idea?

- Yes, I got the gist of it = Yes, I got the main idea!

- Thank for bearing with me! = Thank you for being patient with me!

- I'm finally getting the picture of what you have been saying! = I finally understand what you were saying!

- Bear with me not Bare with me (= it wouldn't make sense in this expression)

- Bear with me while I try to get to the bottom of it! = Bear with me while I try to find out more!
